Arise and Shine: Overcome by the Blood of the Lamb

Arise and Shine: Overcome by the Blood of the Lamb

On my way to church, I was reminded of communion—particularly the wine, which represents the blood of Jesus. As I reflected on it, I remembered Revelation 12:11:

Revelation 12:11 AMP

And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death.

I began to pray:

“Thank You, Father, for giving me Jesus. Because You willingly gave us Your Son, I know that You withhold nothing good from us. Thank You for the blood of Jesus, through which we overcome everything life throws at us. Thank You for the testimonies of Your faithfulness, goodness, and lovingkindness in our lives.”

It was a sunny Sunday morning after nearly two weeks of what seemed like an unending downpour of rain. As I stepped out of the cab and entered the church, I went upstairs, settled into my new spot, took out my Kindle, and began reading the verses.

And lo and behold, one of the worship songs that morning was about the blood of Jesus.

God’s goodness, His mercy, and the power of the blood were woven into the lyrics.

Now, as I sit and write this, I see that Revelation 12:11 is connected to Romans 8:33–34:

Romans 8:33–34 AMP

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect (His chosen ones)? It is God who justifies us [declaring us blameless and putting us in a right relationship with Himself]. Who is the one who condemns us? Christ Jesus is the One who died [to pay our penalty], and more than that, who was raised [from the dead], and who is at the right hand of God interceding [with the Father] for us.

This is what the blood of Jesus has purchased for us. And this is what Jesus continues to do for us: He intercedes for us.

I believe the Heavenly Father is reminding us to remember what the blood of Jesus has accomplished. What Jesus has done is enough—and more than enough—for us to overcome.

As darkness continues to spread, the light within believers will overcome it. The pressing darkness is giving birth to a company of overcomers—light-bearers who know what the blood of the Lamb has purchased for them.

They will become living testimonies of the goodness and lovingkindness of the Father, who willingly gave us His Son and withholds nothing good from us. He has graciously given us everything we need for life and godliness.

And here's the Heart of the Heavenly Father (Watch and Read along)
